Priscilla Healy heads up the firm's Pensions Law Group. She is also a member of the firm's Insolvency & Corporate Restructuring Law Group.
Practice
Priscilla practices in the area of pensions and retirement law, as well as group benefits, by themselves and ancillary to the firm's insolvency and corporate restructuring practice. Retirement arrangements for employees that include registered and supplementary pension plans and Group RRSP's are highly regulated under provincial pension legislation as well as the Income Tax Act. Dealing with these areas necessarily involves Priscilla in securities law, employment standards legislation, trust law, and family law.
Priscilla has extensive experience in her area. She served as Director of the Secretariat of the Pension Commission of Ontario, responsible for policy, research and communications, and as Legal Advisor to the Ontario Securities Commission. She spent thirteen years with a top-flight employee benefits consulting firm. She has an extensive network of government and industry contacts, and has personally played a large part in developing the present system of regulation of defined contribution pension plans and group savings arrangements. Priscilla also serves on a number of community-based volunteer committees.
