Pallett Valo and the City of Mississauga are delighted to share the inaugural launch of their Articling Student Secondment Program with the GTA legal community.

Pallett Valo’s articling students, Harry Scannell and Abigail Smith, will each spend one month with the City of Mississauga’s Legal Services Division. In turn, Pallett Valo will welcome Mississauga articling students Nick Barnes and Ana Featherston‑Rajcic to their team.

This exciting program provides the Pallett Valo students with a meaningful exposure to the duties of in‑house counsel and the complexities of local government, and the City’s students will gain first‑hand private practice experience across the diverse industries and practice areas of a leading Ontario law firm like Pallett Valo.

City of Mississauga articling students work across a broad range of files such as municipal, procurement, commercial real estate and expropriations, environmental, construction, intellectual property, planning and development, civil litigation, labour and employment, and weekly POA prosecutions, building litigation, drafting, and research skills. In return, students rotating with Pallett Valo will strengthen their client‑facing experience, sharpen business‑focused problem solving, gain valuable exposure to business development and client generation strategies, and collaborate across practice areas while contributing to impactful legal work alongside our talented team.

Articling Principals Domenic Tudino of the City of Mississauga and Steven Pordage of Pallett Valo believe this hands-on training experience provides their students with unique skills and a significant advantage in a competitive marketplace, while making the next generation of lawyers increasingly accomplished in the delivery of legal services.
