We are delighted to announce that the firm’s managing partner, John Russo, has been awarded the Peel Law Association Inaugural Civility Award.
The Civility Award honours a PLA member who has consistently demonstrated an exemplary commitment to the ideals of professionalism and civility in the practice of law.
John Russo joined Pallett Valo in June 1999. He made partner in 2008 and was unanimously chosen as the firm’s managing partner in October 2017. Under his leadership the firm has been voted Top 10 Regional Law Firm in eight consecutive surveys by Canadian Lawyer magazine.
In addition to his role as managing partner, John has a commercial litigation practice representing a wide variety of clients in complex business disputes.
Anne Kennedy, a former managing partner of the firm, currently Partner of Risk and Practice Management, and recipient of the PLA’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023 says:
“It has been one of the great pleasures of my career to have worked with John for the past 26 years. When he first joined Pallett Valo, he immediately impressed me with his solid instincts, strong work ethic, and ability to put people at ease. John is a very effective litigator who navigates the often-fractious environment of commercial litigation with respect and courtesy toward all. Based on my knowledge of John and his approach to the practice of law, I don’t think the Peel Law Association could have made a better choice for its inaugural Civility Award. I think I speak for all of us at Pallett Valo when I say that we could not be prouder of our managing partner.”
