Anne Kennedy is a Member of the Alternate Dispute Resolution Services Group, the Commercial Litigation Group and the Estate Litigation Group.

Litigation Practice

Anne’s litigation practice focuses on commercial disputes involving real property, fraud and fraud recovery as well as in all aspects of estate and trust litigation. Anne represents title insurers, financial institutions, property owners, business owners, estate trustees and beneficiaries.

She has appeared before all levels of Ontario courts, including the Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Divisional Court, and the Ontario Court of Appeal. Anne has also appeared before administrative tribunals particularly those involved in consent and capacity matters. As an experienced litigator, she has been involved in the resolution of class action lawsuits, the take-over by the lender of large commercial and retail properties and the resolution of multi-party disputes and multiple beneficiary estate disputes.

Anne has a background in insurance law and applies this experience to her current practice in assisting clients with insurance issues such as coverage disputes that arise in the context of litigation. She brings a practical approach to the resolution of complex commercial disputes as well as contentious estates matters.

ADR Practice

With over thirty years of litigation experience in diverse areas such as property, business, contractual, insurance and estate disputes, Anne is well suited to act as mediator in a wide variety of situations, including commercial disputes and estate matters. She has taken Advanced Mediation training and is passionate about the benefits of mediation for clients who want to control their own destiny.  This  belief in the power of mediation and in particular that a pragmatic, cost-effective and self-determined result is often in the client’s best interest, motivates Anne to apply her years of experience and skill as an advocate in complex litigation matters, to now assist clients and their counsel to achieve a settlement.
